I was so thrilled to get an invite to the Swapaholics' most recent swap at co-founder Melissa Massello's adorable Somerville home this past Tuesday. It couldn't have come at a better time as I recently moved and did a massive clean-out of my closet.
Being a relative newbie with one tiny swap at a local store under my belt, I felt a little nervous as I had no idea just what to expect. However, as soon as I walked in to see a handful of adorably decked out girls toasting champagne flutes in a living room that had been transformed into a mini-boutique (with racks and everything), I knew I'd fit right in and enjoy the night.
A little late (story of my life), I started to unload my santa-worthy jumbo trash bag of clothes onto the nearest couch, one at a time, but as soon as the oohing and ahhing began over the other racks, panic struck.. I did NOT want to miss out on the good inventory! I quickly made the smart decision to let the others sort through my personal discards themselves and started digging.
Here's what I came out with:
About 20 minutes after we started, everyone had emerged with their findings and the socializing began (wine/pizza/cupcakes = my heaven). It's amazing at how short the actual swap itself lasted!
There is another swap scheduled for May 8th at the Canal District in Worcester. Check out the Swapaholics pretty new website for more details and an upcoming calendar.
